Some dumb shit tries to scam me
So I am leaving Hawaii soon and own two vehicles. The Navy, in all their generosity, will ship only one of them back to The Really Big Island. As such I am forced to sell the other as I can no way afford to ship it from Hawaii. I've advertised it in a few places in the last week and today I receive the following email (I have left all of this idiot's misspellings intact):

Wow! This guy is willing to ship a 27 year old 4WD *AND* pay me with a money order or cashier's check... He's *got* to be on the level, right?
In my reply I simply tell him that I am, in fact, legal and rightful owner and there is no need to arrange shipping. All he needs to do is come over to my house, get the key, and drive it off. After all, this island isn't THAT large.
In very short order a reply hits my inbox.

Normally I'd take the time to mess with an asshole like this but to properly string a jackass like this along takes a while. Takes time that I just do not have right now so I figured I'd lay it right on the line.

I disagree. Seeing as how this is an overseas purchase, I think the only fair and safe way to handle this would be for you to send the money via Western Union. Here are two W.U. locations from which you can choose:

When using Western Union you can provide them with a secret word. Without that secret word, nobody can gain access to the money. Once I see documented proof that you have released the money to Western Union, I will send you the title via Federal Express. When you receive the title you can tell the FedEx delivery person the secret word and he will tell me. I will then go to Western Union and retrieve my money. That way we are both safe and neither one of us will fall victim to a scam artist.
Likely I won't hear from him again. Too bad. This could have been fun.
